Lung detox supplements: what “detox” claims leave out
“Lung detox” is a powerful marketing phrase, but it does not identify a single medically established process that a supplement has been proven to perform.

Your lungs already have protective systems
The respiratory tract uses mucus, cilia, coughing and immune defenses as part of normal clearance and protection. The American Lung Association has cautioned that many products marketed for lung detoxification lack adequate scientific support.
What to ask when a product says “detox”
- What specific substance is supposedly being removed?
- How is removal measured?
- Was that outcome tested in humans?
- Was the finished product tested, or only isolated ingredients?
- Does the claim imply treatment of damage or disease?
A better buying standard
Prefer specific, measurable, appropriately substantiated claims over vague promises to “cleanse,” “repair,” or “reset” lungs.
